'Green Recruitment Solutions are currently seeking a Lead Wind Farm Technician for one of the UK’s leading Renewable Energy Company. You will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the site as well as overseeing maintenance on site.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the site manager you will be leading a team of technicians, carrying out repairs and maintenance to the highest standard in accordance with AWP’S, ROP’s & method statements and risk assessments. This will include, fault finding software updates, interpreting circuit diagrams, safe & correct use of test and measurement equipment.
In addition to this you will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the site, where you will be proactively promoting our positive safety culture.
You will be part of a small team working in the North of Scotland and occasionally in other parts of the UK, ensuring safe, effective operation and maintenance of our wind farms.
Supervision of the site technicians.
Ordering & checking of stock.
Planning work activity & manning to minimise turbine downtime.
Preparing Method Statements & Risk assessments.
Supervision of Contractors.
Inspection of PPE Ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
Oversee maintenance of the Balance of Plant including the substation building & site roads.
Reporting faults and deviations of components, verbal & written.
Operational reporting to the site manager.
Manage isolation & switching of HV and LV supplies.
Achieve Senior Authorised Person status under the E&M Safety rules.
Attend Training courses both academic and practical in the UK and Overseas as required for the role.
Essential Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the wind industry, ideally on Nordex turbines.
As the role, will also include working with medium and high voltage networks, HV operation experience would be an advantage, but is not essential as training will be given for this aspect of the role.
Candidates must be prepared to work at heights, be physically capable of fulfilling the role and possess a full UK driving license.
You will also be required to maintain a detailed knowledge of the technologies and products used across the range of our clients’ wind turbines.
