The role encompasses the management and development of the Hazardous Waste business with sites spread across the North West, North East, Yorkshire and Scotland. They are experiencing an increasing demand for their services and need someone who can capitalise upon these market opportunities by improving each site, increasing efficiency, introducing new services, controlling costs, driving sales and increasing profitability.
The ideal person:
A sales biased Director/ Board Level professional from the Waste Management industry
A background in Hazardous Waste with good market knowledge and networks within wet liquid Haz Waste, contaminated land, asbestos and soil treatment
Strong commercial acumen with experience of managing budgets, P&L and overall business performance etc.
Experience of optimising sales and operational performance, putting in place KPIs and other performance metrics, along with relevant and logical business processes
Influential with good experience of stakeholder management with the ability to implement change and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Able to plan, develop and execute sales strategies along with other corporate strategies
‘Switched-on’ and responsive. Someone who knows how to spot market growth opportunities from new business through to potential business acquisitions; capitalising upon them before the competition
A strong communicator with Board level gravitas
A proven management professional, inspirational leader with excellent people skills

A leading environmental company is currently seeking to recruit a strong HR leader for the challenge of organising a loose HR structure into a properly functioning and effective department. Working closely with the CEO and senior team, the HR Director will play a key role in the business’ growth agenda. Your first priority will be to turn around an informally managed HR department into a well-oiled machine. You will be responsible for establishing systems, policy and processes and provide the ongoing evolution of HR practices, ensuring retention is high on the agenda and that employees remain engaged and are supported as they deliver the business needs. For this reason, it is essential for the HR Director to have ‘hands on’ experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of either formulating a HR department from scratch or developing a newly formed department into well managed and well organised centre of HR excellence. Person Specification: A proven track record in Generalist HR roles, experience working with businesses in the MENA Region is ideal. Expert knowledge of HR best practice. A strategic thinker who is also able, willing and motivated to be “hands on” and work at the operational level. A strong communicator who is able to flex their style as appropriate to suit the audience and circumstances. Able to bring people “on the journey” with them.
